2007 REFEREE CLINIC REGISTRATION INFORMATION

For returning referees, please click Re-certification to find out about re-certifying your badge. For new referees, please continue reading below.

New Referees: Adults, and Youth ages 13 and above are encouraged to become referees.

Classes are called “Entry-Level Clinics” and details about where and when can be found on the state referee web site, www.wasrc.org. Once the home page opens, click on “Instruction” and then on “Clinics” for the list of all clinics around Puget Sound and the whole state.

All Entry-Level Clinics consist of 5 or 6 sessions, each planned for 2.5 to 3 hours, for a total of 15 hours (required by US Soccer Federation, USSF), as follows:

Session 1:        Laws 1, 2, 3, 4 and Laws 7, 8, 9, 10

Session 2:        Laws 15, 16, 17 and Laws 5, 6

Session 3:        Laws 12, 13, 14

Session 4:        Law 11, local laws

Session 5:        On-field practice, e.g. signals, refresher session on the laws

Session 6:        Take test, get test grade, register for USSF badge

Payment is required at your first class to help pay for the class-room and instructors for Entry Level Referee Clinics. Attendance is required at all sessions. If you can do part of one Clinic and must finish at a later clinic, or test at a different clinic than where you started, talk to the clinic hosts on the first night of your session.

Fees are as follows – two payments are needed.

For classrooms and instructors, please pay $45.00 to “EYSA” at the beginning of your first class. Check or cash, NO credit cards. Registered members of EYSA clubs will get their clinic registration fee back or their check torn up when they have passed the test at the end of the session.

For your USSF referee registration, certificate, and badge, you need cash or check, written to “WRDA” for $38.50.

To sign up, please pre-register. We need as much advance warning about numbers of attendees as possible. Pre-registration is "strongly encouraged" - walk-ins will be charged an extra $5.00 at the door, or there may not be room and you could be turned away. Pre-registration means that the class host has your email at least 48 hours before the first class starts. The class host’s word is final – if they say they don’t have it, they don’t have it.

The class host and the exact email for pre-registration will be posted with each clinic’s information, both on the EYSA web site and on the state referee committee’s web site.

Here is what is known about EYSA-sponsored clinics at this time, for calendar year 2007 (dates coming soon).
