EYSA RULES OF COMPETITION

EYSA players compete as members of EYSA sponsored teams in several venues and at several different levels of competition. The different venues are Tournaments, League play and Special Development Teams. The different levels of competition for League play are 1) as member of teams in the Washington State Youth League, 2) District Level Play, and 3) Association Level Play. Special Development Teams include the Soccer Clinic Program, Advanced Development Program and the Olympic Development Program sponsored by WSYSA.

In general, EYSA teams will comply with the Rules of Competition as accepted and published by the organization that sponsors the venue and level of competition in which they participate.

1. Tournaments. EYSA teams competing in tournaments will play under the Rules of Competition accepted and published by the organization sponsoring the tournament.

2. League Play. EYSA teams competing in league play will play under the Rules of Competition accepted and published by the organization sponsoring the league in which they play.

2.1. Washington State Youth League. EYSA sponsored teams competing in the Washington State Youth League, WSYL, will play under the Rules of Competition accepted and published by the Washington State Youth Soccer Association, WSYSA. These rules are available in published form from WSYSA or on their web site.
2.2. District Level Competition. EYSA Select Teams generally play in the Select leagues sponsored by District III of the Washington State Youth Soccer Association. EYSA sponsored teams competing in the Select leagues of District III of the Washington State Youth Soccer Association, will play under the Rules of Competition accepted and published by District III of the Washington State Youth Soccer Association, WSYSA. These rules are available in published form from District III of WSYSA or on their web site.
2.3. Association Level Competition. EYSA teams competing at the Association Level generally play in Leagues organized by the Eastside Youth Soccer Association or by District II of the Washington State Youth Soccer Association, depending on the ages of the players.
2.3.1. Mod Soccer. Players whose age places them in the U-8, U-9 or U-10 grouping generally compete in the Mod Soccer program organized by the EYSA. EYSA teams playing in the Mod Soccer Program of the EYSA play under the Rules of Competition accepted and published by the EYSA for the Mod Soccer Program. These rules are available in published form as Appendix A to these Rules of Competition.
2.3.2. Recreational. Players whose age places them in the U-11, U-12 or U-13 grouping generally compete in the EYSA Soccer program organized by the EYSA. EYSA teams playing in the Recreational Soccer Program of the EYSA play under the Rules of Competition accepted and published by the EYSA for the Recreational Soccer Program. These rules are available in published form as Appendix B to these Rules of Competition.
2.3.3. District II recreational play. Players whose age places them in the U-14 through U-18 grouping generally compete in the District II Recreational Soccer program organized by the District II of the Washington State Youth Soccer Association. EYSA teams competing in the District II Recreational Soccer Program play under the Rules of Competition accepted and published by the District II of the Washington State Youth Soccer Association for the Recreational Soccer Program. These rules are available in published form from the District II of the Washington State Youth Soccer Association or on their website.
3. Special Development Programs. EYSA Players or Teams competing in Special Development Programs will play under the Rules of Competition accepted and published by the organization sponsoring the program in which they play.
3.1. Clinics. Players whose age places them in the U-6, U-7 grouping generally participate in the Clinic programs organized by the clubs of EYSA. Club teams playing in the Soccer Clinic Program of the clubs of the EYSA play under the Rules of Competition accepted and published by the EYSA for the Soccer Clinic Program. These rules are available in published form as Appendix C to these Rules of Competition.
3.2. Advanced Development Program. Age U-13 Players Selected to Play in the Advanced Development Program on EYSA sponsored teams competing in the Advanced Development Age Group of the Washington State Youth League, WSYL, will play under the Rules of Competition accepted and published by the Washington State Youth Soccer Association, WSYSA. These rules are available in published form from WSYSA or on their web site.
3.3. Olympic Development Program. EYSA sponsored Teams and Players selected to participate or compete in the Olympic Development Program sponsored within Washington by the Washington State Youth Soccer Association play under the Rules of Competition accepted and published for this program by the Washington State Youth Soccer Association or the United States Youth Soccer Association.
