EYSA Coaching Curriculum Overview

The EYSA curriculum is designed to teach players and coaches in a manner that maximizes development. The curriculum is presented as a blueprint, which includes the coaching philosophy, coach and player profile expectations, teaching model and playing style and system. The end goal of the blueprint is to develop smart players, who see the game, and practice possession-style soccer.

The blueprint covers all the learning stages for all ages starting 3v3 and progressing to 4v4, 5v5, 6v6, 9v9, and eventually 11v11. Players are taught a 1-4-3-3 formation as a foundation for understanding the tactics and triangulation of the game.

The EYSA curriculum defines learning stages and activity guidelines, explaining how coaches can implement it. This curriculum emphasizes the importance of mastering the fundamentals of the game. This will provide progressive games and activities with direct tactical and technical applications to the game.

The diagram below illustrates the evolution of the different formations across all age groups. Each is related to the final 1-4-3-3. (Let's not forget the goalkeeper!)

You will hear more info about our coaching curriculum. EYSA is committed to providing training for our coaches at all levels. Modules are sent by our technical staff to coaches across the association throughout the season.
